陽 貨 欲 見 孔 子, 孔 子 不 見, 歸 孔 子 豚.
yáng huò yù jiàn kǒng zǐ, kǒng zǐ bù jiàn, guī kǒng zǐ tún.

|
Barang panas bernafsu ingin menemui Kongfucu,
Kongfucu tidak menemuinya, kembali ke tempat Kongfucu sambil membawa anak
babi.
|
|
孔 子 時 其 亡 也, 而 往 拜 之.
kǒng zǐ shí qí wáng yě, ér wǎng bài zhī,
|
|
Kongfucu setelah beberapa lamanya melupakannya pula, seperti yang lalu-lalu untuk
memberikan penghargaan.
|
|
遇 諸 塗, 謂 孔 子 曰, '來, 予, 與 爾 言'.
yù zhū tú. wèi kǒng zǐ yuē ‘lái, yǔ yǔ ěr yán’
|
|
Bertemu dengan beberapa pengfitnah. Menceritakan Kongfucu berkata ‘kemari,
untuk memberikan kebersamaan seperti itu ucapannya’
|
|
曰, '懷 其 寶 而 迷 其 邦, 可 謂 仁 乎'.
yuē ‘huái qí bǎo ér mí qí bāng, kě wèi rén hū’
|
|
Berkata ‘Wawasan berpikirnya barang-barang berharga begitu pula beras dari Negara
bagian,
masih bisa menceritakan kedamaian pula’.
|
|
曰, 不 可, 好 從 事 而 亟 失 時,
yuē ‘bù kě’ ‘hǎo cóng shì ér jí shī shí,
|
|
Berkata ‘tidak cocok . sebaiknya ikuti persoalannya begitu pula segera akan gagal
pada waktunya'.
|
|
可 謂 知 乎. 曰, 不 可.
kě wèi zhī hū’ yuē ‘bù kě’
|
|
Juga menceritakan pengertian pula. Berkata, 'tidak cocok'.
|
|
日 月 逝 矣, 歲 不 我 與.
‘rì yuè shì yǐ, suì bù wǒ yù’
|
|
Berkata 'Hari bulan mati (malam yang gelap) selamanya, Orang berumur, Bukan saya
yang tidak ada kebersamaan'.
|
|
孔 子 曰, 諾, 吾 將 仕 矣.
kǒng zǐ yuē ‘nuò, wú jiāng shì yǐ’
|
|
Kongfucu berkata ‘memberi janji, menurut saya calon jenderal akhirnya’
|
|
|
|
Confucius's polite but dignified treatment of a powerful, but usurping and
unworthy, officer.
1. Yang Ho wished to see Confucius, but Confucius would not go to see him. On
this, he sent a present of a pig to Confucius, who, having chosen a time when Ho
was not at home, went to pay his respects for the gift. He met him, however, on
the way.
2. Ho said to Confucius, "Come, let me speak with you." He then asked, "Can he
be called benevolent who keeps his jewel in his bosom, and leaves his country to
confusion?" Confucius replied, "No." "Can he be called wise, who is anxious to be
engaged in public employment, and yet is constantly losing the opportunity of
being so?" Confucius again said, "No." "The days and months are passing away;
the years do not wait for us." Confucius said, "Right; I will go into office."

陽 : panas; 貨 : uang atau barang,
Pasal ini mengingatkan sebagai pejabat negara ataupun organisasi masyarakat
jangan menerima pemberian dalam bentuk apapun dari orang-orang yang
berhubungan dengan fungsi jabatannya.
Apabila sampai menerima dapat merusak citra dirinya dan dimanfaatkan oleh
orang-orang sebagai alasan / dasar pikiran menjatuhkan fungsi jabatannya.

Yang Huo wanted to see Confucius, and when Confucius refused to go and see
him he sent Confucius a present of a piglet. Confucius had someone keep watch
on Yang Huo's house, and went to pay his respects during his absence. -On the
way he happened to meet Yang Huo who said to him, 'Come now. I will speak
with you. Then he went on, 'Can the man be said to be benevolent who, while
hoarding his treasure, allows the state to go astray? I should say not. Can the man
be said to be wise who, while eager to take part in public life, constantly misses
the opportunity? I should say not. The days and the months slip by. Time is not on
our side.' Confucius said, 'All right. I shall take office.'

XVII. Trusted People
Hot stuff desired want to meet Confucius,
Confucius refused to see him,
Then Hot stuff come back to Confucius and present of a suckling pig.
Confucius accepts the present as a respect and after that forgeted already.
Hot stuff meet some slander then telling a story about Confucius and says,
'Come here,
'His togetherness was "expect gift like decoration also rice from a state,
Bold to talk about peace'.
Says, 'Not suitable,
Better keep watching his matter and more often asks the responsibility'.
Also telling his aphorism.
Says, 'Not suitable, Dark moon attitute,
Moreover not me have not togetherness'.
Confucius says, 'Gave promise, Become a general'.
